In the latest installment of our on-going series, "Why Didn't I Think of That?," we get our first look at an innovative KickStarter project called SnapPower, which makes converting a standard outlet into one that USB compatible so easy your grandma can do it. Unlike those available now at big box stores, this model won't involve a trip to your breakerbox or a call to an electrician to get it installed. Instead, simply unscrew your current outlet cover, put SnapPower in its place, and screw it back in. SnapPower uses "power prongs" that draw power from the screws on the inside of the outlet to convert that electricity into USB-ready power, which allows you add functionality to your outlet without sacrificing a port or having to always have a power adapter. While the SnapPower team has already crushed their fundraising goal, there's still time to get in on the ground floor on this one by checking out their website here.
