Spring/Summer 2015 finds Hanon teaming up once again with Reebok, this time collaborating on the classic Ventilator runner. Releasing through Reebok’s Certified Network program and celebrating Hanon’s 25th anniversary, the shoe takes inspiration from the retailer’s roots in Scotland, and the legend of Robert the Bruce and the Spider.
(The story has Robert the Bruce, King of Scots, inspired by a spider’s labored attempts to spin a web. He then goes on claim victory in an epic battle at Bannockburn in 1314.) Hanon’s take on the Ventilator is built with rich pig suede in a mossy green shade with purple accents, standing in for the rolling hills of Scotland, while the black lining represents the cave in which Robert The Bruce encountered the spider. A spiderweb print covers the tongue backer and footbed, while dual branding appears on the woven tongue label. An embossed spider shows up on the heft heel, Hanon’s flame emblem on the right. The Hanon x Reebok Ventilator “RTB” is set to launch online this Saturday, April 18th.
