In just under three years, we've seen the fast rise of an independent Dutch sports car maker's most visible toy. First released in the Fall of 2012 and enhanced in 2015 with a Blister Berg Edition, we are now getting our first look at the sinister Donkervoort D8 GTO Bare Naked Carbon Edition. While the very first Donkervoort was marked with a full visible carbon fiber exterior structure, the D8 GTO Bare Naked Carbon Edition sees the extension of the high-tech, ultra-light material extend into the interior, meaning the seats, doors, frames, dash, and sills all match the same super-strong material that makes up everything from the nose to diffuser. Even the ignition cylinder housing that powers the powerful Audi 2.5L R5 TFSI engine is made up of the visible carbon fiber material, leaving no detail overlooked. Every Bare Naked Carbon Edition will also undergo a remarkable painting process, in which a unique UV-coating is applied to each carbon fiber component by hand, in either a matte or gloss finish, or even with a color accent of the owner’s choosing. Available now, the first edition of this eye-catcher has already left the factory and is headed for Switzerland.
