Ahead of its trip to the 6 Hours of Spa, we're getting our first look at the new aerodynamics kit for the Audi R18 e-tron quattro. Designed to provide maximum downforce, the package installs a different front fairing, modifield sidepods, and a new rear wing support as well as relocates some of the key brake and engine vents to further smooth and control air flow. According to Audi Sport's Head of Aerodynamics, Jan Monchaux, the body shape and new arrangements are key for the 6 Hours of Spa, which put far more emphasis on downforce than the levels needed at other big races, like the Le Mans; the Audi Sport team evaluated every component to find better solutions to reduce height and drag.
