For Spring/Summer 2015, PUMA will mine its extensive tennis archive to reissue some of the brand's classic court silhouettes. The first release out of the gates is the Match 74, a model that evolved from PUMA's first ever tennis shoe, the Match. Developed in the '60s, the Match would undergo performance enhancements throughout the '70s and '80s, with the shoe continuing to be made in Europe while maintaining an all-white aesthetic. The Match 74 is described as PUMA’s first professional tennis shoe turned star, featuring a perforated leather upper for breathability, and clean, smooth lines offering timeless appeal. Today’s version combines a full-grain leather build with a retro nubuck mudguard, used back in the day for extra stability when swiftly changing direction on the tennis court. Check out the introductory video below, and find the Match 74 available now through select PUMA retailers.
