Nike pays tribute to the LGBT community with the 2015 edition of its #BETRUE collection, featuring uniquely designed footwear, apparel and equipment. At the center those designs is a gradient rainbow, reflecting both the diversity found within sports and Nike’s support for the LGBT community. In 2011 the Swoosh helped to create the LGBT Sports Coalition, dedicated to ending discrimination in sport, and the #BETRUE collection, initially begun in 2012, continues to assist the cause. The 2015 collection features special editions of the Nike Free Run 5.0, Nike Hyper Rev and Nike Roshe Run, as well as #BETRUE tees giving the nod to eight U.S. cities: New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Atlanta, Portland, Ore., and Washington, DC. #BETRUE Elite socks and a Five-Panel Hat complete the collection.
Look for the goods to be available beginning June 5 on Nike.com, with a rollout through select Nike Stores (Portland, San Francisco, Union Street, New York, Flatiron, Boston, Chicago, Georgetown, Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Lenox) and Nike Factory Stores (Portland, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Washington, D.C., Orlando and Celebration, Florida) throughout the month.
