London-based Mr Jones Watches has unveiled the Sun and Moon Miyamoto, a wristwatch featuring graphics inspired by the world of Super Mario. Named after Super Mario games creator Shigeru Miyamoto, the piece has imagery on the hour disc directly inspired by the digital cartoon world of Mario’s landscape. Housed inside the brushed stainless steel case is a unique time telling mechanism: the position of the sun or moon within the crescent shape indicates the hours, totaling 12 hours running from left to right. At 6 am the sun “rises” on the left of the dial, eventually descending at the right hand marker at 6 pm. At that time the sun “sets” and disappears from view, while the moon “rises” on the left. A navy and grey leather strap with pink contrast stitching completes the look. Individually numbered and limited to just 100 units, the Sun and Moon Miyamoto watch can be purchased directly from Mr Jones Watches.
