There's no denying TAG Heuer's dedication to the world's most legendary endurance race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the F1 community as a whole. Building on the relationship founded back in the early 1970's, the Swiss watchmaker most recently presented a special edition honoring the impressive late Aryton Senna and now is ready to present the TAG Heuer Carrera Nismo Calibre 16 Special Edition for this year's running. Set to be worn by the entire Nissan GTE-Am racing group throughout the race, the watch is a modified Calibre 16 with a tri-dial layout, a cam actuated 12-hour chronograph, and 42 hours of power reserve reenergized by an automatic rotor. The case itself retains its classic look in a 43mm titanium build that is also micro-blasted with titanium carbide to make it lighter and stronger than steel. A charcoal grey dial and rubber tire-inspired band round out the design while Nissan Nismo logos on the bezel finish the look. Given the occasion, this special edition is priced a bit higher than the usual Carrera - at $5,300 - but something tells us that fans won't mind paying the higher figure for such a notable watch.
