Amazon has announced a deal with Marvel Comics that will allow Kindle owners to download single issues of the publisher's titles directly from Amazon's store starting today. The agreement means that there are now more than 12,000 Marvel back issues available on Kindle, without requiring the use of the Comixology app that Amazon acquired last year. New issues will be available on Kindle store the same day they hit store shelves and the Comixology service. Aside from Comixology, digital distribution of Marvel comics had previously been confined to the publisher's in-house platform, the $9.99-a-month Marvel Unlimited, that only featured comics released more than six months ago.
