When Japanese designer Junichi Abe started his Kolor label in 2004, his stated purpose was to bring "optimal balance" to every aspect of his meticulously crafted clothes, from fabrics to patterns and beyond. He also made up his mind on the proscription of any military or sportswear influences, a policy that has evidently been loosened, at least according to his Spring/Summer 2016 presentation at Paris Fashion Week. The military sensibility shone through the usage of camouflage and utility pockets, but the real star of the show may have been the suiting, cut in slouchy proportions and appended with the sort of unexpected details we've come to expect from the Kolor playbook.
