Ford is officially expanding its Smart Bike technology with the release of their next generation E-bike, the Ford MoDe:Flex. First rolled out in concept back in 2011, it looks like the project could be coming to a city near you, but more information is still being rolled out. In short, the Ford MoDe:Flex builds on conventional bike design with a center frame assembly that includes a motor and battery that can help to power you forward. The bike is also able to be disconnected at the front and rear to be reconfigured as a mountain or urban bike before being stored in a base or into a vehicle outlet. Rounding out the Ford MoDe:Flex prototype, the new eBike will also be equipped with its own app to help riders navigate, know upcoming traffic issues, and connect you with other riders. More definitely to come on this one so stay tuned.
