Wearability isn't the point of a Thom Browne runway show, which is typically a high-concept, theatrical affair depicting thematic variations on the designer's signature grey suit. For Browne's Spring/Summer 2016 presentation at Paris Fashion Week, the overriding theme was rooted in traditional Japanese attire. Embroidered cranes and florals snaked their way around kimono-length suit jackets, while cropped trousers revealed white socks and wooden geta sandals. The array of gray flannels, worsteds and seersuckers eventually gave way to full kabuki theater, ending the show with a high bit of drama.
