Converse has conferred a striking a makeover on the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star, featuring two colorways gathered under the “Shark” pack banner. No, these aren’t inspired by Shark Week. Rather, these MA-1 Zip editions of the classic canvas high-top are inspired by the design flourishes that adorned World War II fighter planes. Details include heavy grade canvas uppers, knitted collars, embroidered ankle patches and tongue zip detailing. A jagged “shark mouth” graphic — reminiscent of the artwork found on the noses of Curtiss P-40 Warhawk aircraft during WWII — is the defining feature on both the Dolphin Grey and Imperial Green colorways of the shoe. The kicks are available now through select Converse retailers in Europe.
