Individual colorways of Kevin Durant's signature shoes are designed to tell a story, and the third installment of the Nike KD8 reaches back to Durant's childhood neighborhood in Maryland. Told he was too skinny to ever become a professional basketball player, Durant would go on to spend countless early morning hours sprinting up Hunt's Hill, working with his coach Taras "Stink" Brown to build his mental strength and physical stamina. The shoe's Flyweave upper has a orange and yellow cast to reflect the sunrise cresting over the hill, while the shoe's asphalt outsole represents the cracked surface of those neighborhood streets that were KD's early training grounds. The Nike KD8 "Hunt's Hill Sunrise" is scheduled to hit stores August 1st.
