On the heels of our first look at the Chuck Taylor All Star II, Converse has officially unveiled the contemporary reworking of the iconic silhouette. The design team who took on the task took pains to respect the history of a sneaker born in 1917, while also recognizing that the creatives who adopted the shoe as their own demanded more. The upshot: new product enhancements keep the time-honored aesthetic intact, while also providing modern comfort solutions in a premium execution. Those innovations include a Nike Lunarlon sockliner for superior full foot cushioning and arch support; foam padded collar and non-slip gusseted tongue for 360-degree comfort; and a perforated micro suede liner for breathability during extended periods of wear. They're combined with a durable premium canvas build complemented with a fully embroidered All Star patch, on-trend high foxing and tonal matte eyelets. The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II launches Tuesday, July 28th, through Converse retailers and online. The shoes come in Ox ($70) and Hi ($75) variations, each available in introductory black, white, red and blue colorways.
