A spark was lit yesterday afternoon when BuzzFeed ran a story citing sources with knowledge that Apple plans to launch its next generation Apple TV this September. Of course, that spark took hold and spread fast across the internet with details of the long-awaited update, which include a "more polished" device with plenty of new features. These details come after Apple originally scrapped plans to present the Apple TV at its World Wide Developers Conference in June, with specs that point toward a slimmer body, Apple's A8 system, a new remote, and increased storage with Siri voice control. The new Apple TV will also debut with its own App Store and a software development kit that creatives need to build it out. However, it seems the much-hyped Apple subscription TV service remains to be mostly a waiting game.
