After together conquering everything else in the streetwear game, Nike and Kobe Bryant have now moved on to a new phase with the creation of their own brand typeface. Creating a new Nike x Kobe Bryant brand font usually would be tall order for any designer, but fortunately Sawdust (aka Jonathan Quainton) and Rob Gonzalez already have a strong resume creating typefaces and refining brand identities for clients like The New York Times and Coca-Cola. The end result is a design that draws on the existing logo, creating a sharp and dynamic set of characters that is so clearly linked to Kobe as a player and as a brand that it already seems familiar. Learn more about the work via Sawdust's online portfolio and get a small taste of the brand campaigns to come after the click.
