According to Barry Spiering, Director of Applied Apparel Research for the Nike Explore Team Sport Research Lab, the athlete who trains in cold weather without adequate protection will experience impaired performance, as the body has to work harder to maintain thermal balance. To that end, Nike has developed Therma-Sphere Max, a three-layer composite material specifically engineered to keep the wearer warm, comfortable and dry, without excess weight or sacrifice in style. It’s used to maximum effect in the Therma-Sphere Max Men’s Training Jacket, Therma-Sphere Max Men’s Training Pant and Therma-Sphere Max Women’s Training Vest, all three featuring a durable water-repellent and wind-resistant coating, as well as articulated seams for freedom of movement.
