Despite their hot cherry red exteriors, the new Audi S4 and S4 Avant have somehow flown under the radar at this week's Frankfurt Motor Show, especially in the wake of the 503HP Audi E-tron Quattro. Sitting on the other end of the powertrain spectrum, fans of high-performance gasoline cars will find a turbocharged V6 engine packed within a body so subtle, it exudes confidence. Hiding under the new S4's hood, you'll find a turbocharged V6 engine producing 354HP and 369 lb/ft of torque strong enough to hit 62mph in just 4.7 seconds. In both models, the quattro all-wheel drive and 8-speed tiptronic gearbox are standard, which now also allows for decoupling to coast to save on fuel. To improve the usual concerns around cornering with that much power, the new S4s sit 23mm lower on a lightweight five link suspension that can be tweaked to the driver's preferences. The 2016 design is finished with aluminum accents with matching hits on the new rear diffuser, rounded out with 18-inch wheels. The new Audi S4 and S4 Avant will hit dealerships in early 2016.
