It’s no surprise that color and youthful energy were in plentiful supply at Jeremy Scott‘s runway show during NYFW. His signature pop art style blended prints and graphics with synthetic fabrications, channeling the ’60s through the filter of the ’80s club scene. As Scott himself remarked backstage, the clothes were meant to evoke “cool kids in the ’80s, the Lower East Side, Mud Club, CBGB madness, early John Waters films.” The stream-of-consciousness commentary suited the playful procession onstage, appealing to the new cool kids sitting in the front rows.
