Tomorrow’s suite of Air Jordan Retro releases have the Black/Militia Green color scheme in common, but all three are also refreshed takes on OG Air Jordan silhouettes. The Air Jordan 1 High the Return (aka the Air Jordan 1.5) combines the Air Jordan 1 upper with tooling from the Air Jordan 2, the Air Jordan 1 KO has a canvas build and modified midsole, and the Air Jordan 11 Low IE does away with the silhouette’s signature patent leather. If you’ve ever wondered why the Air Jordan 11 Low IE is so different from its antecedent, Nike design legend Tinker Hatfield explains that patent leather was counterintuitive to the summer weather during the time the shoe debuted, back in 1996. So he did away with the material and added mesh for breathability, then filled in the gaps with Jordan’s signature elephant print. Along with the Air Jordan 1 High Return and Air Jordan 1 KO, the Air Jordan 11 Low IE hits select retailer tomorrow.
