At an event today in Los Angeles, YouTube unveiled its long-awaited ad-free subscription service, YouTube Red. It goes live in exactly one week, on Oct. 28, across mobile phones, tablets, desktops and connected TVs. At a cost of $9.99 a month, YouTube Red will deliver offline viewing, as well as a slate of exclusive original programming starring some of the platform's biggest homegrown stars, including PewDiePie, Lilly Singh, The Fine Bros., Toby Turner and more. Additionally, the service offers access to Google Play Music, a $10/month streaming service in its own right.
