Since the release of the very first Star Wars film in 1977, a procession of different artists have taken to reinterpreting characters from the iconic film franchise. A recent contribution found New York designer Blank William sculpting Stormtrooper helmets to resemble various animals, making for a contemporary-art take on the indelible character. French artist Travis Durden has gone in the opposite direction, combining a series of characters with classic Greek sculptures. As realistic as the works appear, they’re digital portraits based on actual pieces from the Louvre. They may not be real, but they’re still suitable for framing.
