Fans in Dubai were among the lucky ones to be the first to lay their eyes on this new special edition McLaren 650S Spider Al Sahara 79, where it debuted alongside many other innovative concepts during the week-long event. Created by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the 650S Spider Al Sahara 79 dons a full-body pearlescent white gold exterior inspired by the "golden sands...of the Middle Eastern landscape", using 24 carat gold particles mixed into the paint to make the model glisten in the light. The special edition also features a glossy black retractable hard top, MSO-branded side skirts and matching black wheels along with a range of other carbon fiber exterior aero components. The dramatic styling continues inside, with the cabin outfitted with Black and Almond White leather sport seats, white gold accents on the steering wheels, console, and door, and dark gold finishes for the gear knob and air vents. Under the hood, motivation comes from a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine, which produces 641 HP and 500 lb-ft of torque, allowing the car to hit 62mph in just 3.0 seconds before topping out at 204mph. The McLaren 650S Spider Al Sahara 79 will be available exclusively for customers in the Middle East, beginning at 1,456,308 AED ($396,538 / €370,233).
