Nike has always been at the forefront of sportswear innovation. And while the fruits of their labor have always trickled down to us in the form of footwear, apparel, and other accessories, Nike now wants to bring customers even closer to their world with the opening of the Nike Kichijoji Running Concept Store in Tokyo. Kichijoji is home to some of Tokyo’s most discerning consumers, so Nike went all-out when it came to placement of the store and the design of its full-array of running lifestyle and training gear. Located next to the cherry blossom-filled Inokashira Park, the store features two floors and 5,400 sq/ft of space that’s filled with Nike’s sport DNA and graphics from local artist Shun Sasaki. With a blend of industrial chic and natural styling, everything from the shelves to the exterior is hard not to admire, including the traditional Japanese woodcraft of the store’s slated wood exterior with an embedded JUST DO IT message and digital signage that brings local tones and patterns to the interior. In addition to products, the Nike Kichijoji Running Concept store will also host one-on-one coaching, personal styling services, run clubs, and other Nike+ member services. So, grab a towel and head over to check it out.
