The future of Formula One is here and now with the reveal of the McLaren MP4-X Formula One Concept. Dubbed as McLaren's "vision of the future," the MP4-X is chock full of bleeding edge performance and design that the carmaker notes is all real, even if its in the earliest stages of development. Some of those parts include the idea that you can drive the car with hand gestures, cutting out all physical controls in place of the idea of - one day - brain-controlled driving. Other developments, also that aren't allowed under the F1 rules, include a newly sculpted underbody and electrodes fitted to the car that turn air into plasma for extra downforce in corners. Rounding it out, there is a protective-like structure made of a photochromic and hydrophobic material that repels water, tints, and protects from impacts, hopefully ruling out the fatal accidents of recent decades. The list goes on and on. Check it out below.
