For most of us, Nike Flyknit is now a firmly established technology, one that's utilized by athletes and casual wearers alike. But if you think Nike is done tinkering with the with the lightweight, knitted material, you couldn't be more wrong. According to reporter Matthew Kish of the Portland Business Journal, Nike has filed four new patents for its Flyknit technology, bringing the total to a whopping 500. Kish took to Twitter to post a diagram from one of the most recent patents, which seems to depict a new weaving procedure. So the next time you lace up a pair of your Flyknit Racers, keep in mind the ingenuity (and paperwork) that went into the making of the shoe.
