Swiss luxury watch brand Richard Mille presents a new timepiece for women featuring a case made almost entirely from synthetic pink-colored sapphire crystal. The RM 07-02 Pink Lady Sapphire Automatic has a case that requires over 40 days and almost 800 hours to machine properly. According to Richard Mille, machining the sapphire crystal represented "the biggest challenge ever faced," and the result is an elongated barrel-shape held together with grade 5 titanium spline screws. A center ring of diamonds adorn the watch, made with mother-of-pearl and 18k red gold, and the rotor of the automatic movement is embedded with even more diamonds. Pricing for the piece is tentatively listed at around $1,014,000.
