You may not be familiar with the name Phil Tippett, but it's likely you've seen his work. Tippett is the Oscar-winning stop-motion animator and designer who's worked on some of the most iconic moments from the greats fantasy and sci-fi films in cinematic history. His creative journey began as an alien in the legendary Cantina sequence from Star Wars: a New Hope, and carried over to the practical stop-motion techniques of Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. He's since delved into the world of CGI effects through Jurassic Park and beyond. VICE explores Tippett's impressive body of work in a feature, "My Life in Monsters," which can be enjoyed below.
