Nike has long been a fixture in the greater Portland area, having called the region home for more than 40 years. The brand's extensive ties to the community will now include a new bike share program dubbed BIKETOWN. The partnership entails a pledge of $10 million over five years, and a total of 1,000 bikes as part of the Portland Bike Share Program. The bikes themselves are painted Nike orange and feature reflective wraps and a basket up front that resembles a shoe box. Additionally, Nike will contribute designs for area BIKETOWN stations. Portland residents can expect the program to launch in July.
