The New Leica X-U Camera Can Go Underwater

The latest addition to the Leica X family is a rugged compact camera, the Leica X-U (Typ 113), made for extreme weather and underwater photography. As to be expected from Leica, the X-U has a sleek and sophisticated design, packaged in a dustproof sealed body, one that's shockproof and waterproof up to 49 feet. Details include a 16-megapixel APS-C sensor, 3-inch LCD screen and a 23mm, f/1.7 fixed prime lens (35mm equivalent). In terms of video, the all-terrain shooter is capable of 720p and 1080p videos at 30 fps. The X-U will hit stores at the end of January for $2,950.
