adidas Looks to Revolutionize the Craft of Shoemaking With Futurecraft Tailored Fibre

Last year, adidas unveiled Futurecraft 3D, a 3D-printed running shoe midsole, followed by Futurecraft Leather, a digital milling technique developed by adidas that uses a single piece of leather. Those innovations are now joined by Futurecraft Tailored Fibre, which incorporates machinery that can specifically tailor the look and feel of a running shoe, manipulating and constructing the fibres used in production around the foot. The resulting prototype is the latest example of the Three Stripes combining the craft of shoemaking with cutting edge technology. See the process at work in the video below.
