On the occasion of Nike Flyknit's four-year anniversary, Nike has created an infographic that neatly encapsulates the history of the groundbreaking technology. Allowing Nike designers to microengineer every stitch of an upper, Flyknit is scientifically tuned to meet the exact specifications of athletes. It debuted on a running shoe dubbed the Flyknit Racer in 2012, then subsequently appeared on various training, soccer and basketball silhouettes. Not only did Flyknit break the mold of sustainable performance by shaving ounces off the weight of each shoe, it also saved millions of pounds of waste from ever reaching landfills.
