Tesla Model 3 to be Unveiled at the End of the Month

A watershed moment for the fledgling automaker

Anticipation for Tesla's coming Model 3 has been building for a while now, and it's being reported that invitations have been sent out for the official unveiling, scheduled to take place in Southern California on March 31. We don't know much about the Model 3, aside from the fact that it's 20 percent smaller than the Model S, and that it's targeted toward a mass audience with a $35,000 price tag (before federal and local tax incentives are factored in). It will also feature a range of just 200 miles, less than the 220 offered by the Model X and the 300 for Model S. According to Fortune, Tesla will start accepting $1,000 deposits for the Model 3 beginning March 31st, online reservations through Tesla's site will commence the following day on April 1st. Delivery will take place in late 2017.
