Just shy of its 30th anniversary, Nike Air makes a quantum leap with the introduction of the Nike Air VaporMax, making good on the promise of full Air. Whereas previous iterations of Nike Air were insulated within a rubber layer for protection and durability, this latest standalone version incorporate both the Air and exterior layer into one "holistic" VaporMax Air unit. Crucially, it's able to independently maintain its given form while also allowing for more extreme Air geometries, allowing designers install even more Air directly underfoot. Collateral benefits of ditching the traditional foam midsole means greater flexibility and the reduction of weight and waste. Stay tuned for release details.
