Audi has unveiled the new R8 Spyder at the New York Auto Show. The car is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 and seven-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission. 540 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque enable the droptop to hit 62 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds, ultimately hitting a top speed of 197 miles per hour. In terms of appearance, the body is just 0.6 inches shorter than its predecessor, but 1.4 inches wider, making it look lower despite the consistent height. The fabric tops weighs just 97 pounds and can be raised or lowered at speeds up to 31 miles per hour. Look for the car to arrive at showrooms this summer.
