Barneys New York has collaborated with Hood By Air to create hyper-realistic custom mannequins, positioned in the display windows of the retailer's Madison Avenue flagship. Comprising a total of six models, each is inspired by Hood By Air's Spring/Summer 2016 runway show in Paris. The sculptures were made by custom fabricator Yuji Yoshimoto of Studio UG in a process that took two months to complete. The first step was a 3D body scan of the model to create the initial mold, with the resulting plaster hand sculpted to refine the details. Tinted silicon was treated to replicate natural flesh tones, while details included real hair eyebrows applied one by one, as well as customized dentures and glass eyeballs. Completing the looks were painted tattoos, stylized wigs and custom mouthpieces created by Dolly Cohen.
