Nike has unveiled expansion renderings for the company's world headquarters near Beaverton, Oregon. The project will add roughly 3.2 million square feet of office, mixed-use and parking facilities to the campus, with a trio of Northwest-based firms -- ZGF Architects, SRG Partnership and Skylab Architecture -- leading the design charge. The buildings align with the original campus master plan, linking to preexisting areas through open green spaces, paths, sports courts and fields. There's a beacon at the campus center, with structures radiating from the tower to pay homage to Nike's namesake, the winged goddess of victory. Targeting LEED Platinum Certification, the buildings feature sustainable aspects like natural daylighting, passive chilled beams, containing a radiant convection system designed to heat or cool large buildings, and a closed-looped grey water treatment center. The completion date is set for 2018.
