The aliens make a return engagement in Independence Day: Resurgence, the sequel to the 1996 blockbuster. The upcoming film takes place two decades following the initial interstellar invasion, in this latest trailer, we see blend of both old and new faces (and the conspicuous absence of Will Smith). Maika Monroe plays the daughter of Bill Pullman's former President Whitmore, while Liam Hemsworth plays her love interest and fellow pilot Jake Morrison. Returning cast members include Pullman, Vivica A. Fox and Judd Hirsch. Jeff Goldblum also reprises his role as David Levinson, who wryly observes about the aliens, "They like to get the landmarks." Independence Day: Resurgence hits theaters June 24th.
