One of the more notorious NBA draft day trades occurred in 1996. The Charlotte Hornets selected Kobe Bryant, a high school grad from Philadelphia, with the 13th overall pick, and subsequently dealt him to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Vlade Divac. But what if the Logo -- aka Jerry West, the Laker's general manager at the time -- hadn't been able to engineer the trade? There's no doubt Kobe would have gone on to become a superstar, but his signature shoes would certainly have looked different. For one thing, they'd be finished in a purple and teal color palette, as seen in this upcoming Nike Kobe 11 "Draft Day." The kicks hit stores April 28th at select Jordan retailers, including Livestock.
