Upon its debut in 1998, the Nike Mercurial was acclaimed for its radical, track spike-inspired design, engineered for cut-and-strike speed. The upcoming "What the Mercurial" reflects how the silhouette upended aesthetic expectations, while also giving the nod to its rich style heritage by showcasing a total of 18 colors from previous Mercurial iterations -- the most colors that Nike has ever used on a football boot. Details include four past Mercurial logos mashed up to create the logo on the heel tab and aglets, while the left and right boots feature the same design, striped with iconic Mercurial colorways. Finally, the sockliner is printed with iconic Mercurial elements. Limited to 3,000 pairs, the "What the Mercurial" boot launches May 5th.
