Mercedes-Benz takes the G-Class back to its roots with the upcoming G350d Professional, featuring a stripped-down build presented as a "highly purist variant" for off-road use. That means there's no infotainment screen or even power windows, and the seats are covered in fabric instead of leather. What the Professional does have over the standard G350d is a modified suspension with a 10mm (0.4 in.) increase in ground clearance, and higher approach and departure angles at 36 degrees and 39 degrees respectively. Under the hood, the Professional has the same 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine, generating 242hp. It's mated to a 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission, featuring permanent all-wheel drive with off-road ratio and three electrically selectable 100‑percent differential locks. Priced at €79,968 (roughly $89,000), the Mercedes-Benz G350d Professional will be available for order in Europe starting in June.
