To celebrate World Oceans Day, adidas and Parley for the Oceans will release a limited number of their groundbreaking running shoe, featuring a teal thread running throughout the upper made from two kinds of recycled plastic: PET, commonly used on water bottles, and nylon from gill nets retrieved off the coast of Africa. 50 pairs are up for grabs, and starting tomorrow, June 8, contestants can enter to win a pair through an Instagram contest that will run through July 31. Participants are asked to create a video that shows how they pledge to avoid single-use plastic items and support Parley’s Ocean Plastic Program.
