The BMW Concept Lac Rose Is a Modern Take on an Iconic Rally Bike
A paean to BMW's past motorsport success
Every year the resort town of Biarritz on France’s Basque coast hosts the Wheels and Waves event, rife with art, surfing and cool bikes. In the latter category, a prime example was the unveiling of the BMW Concept Lac Rose, a modern interpretation of BMW's iconic desert racers of the mid-1980s, in particular the special-edition BMW R 80 G/S series production bike of the 1985 Dakar Rally. It's made almost exclusively with BMW original standard parts, featuring a modified seat, enlarged R nineT tank, specially painted rear frame, tail with rear-mounted toolkit and more.
