Having served last year as a pace car at Pikes Peak, this year finds the 2017 Acura NSX making its U.S. race debut at the same venue, the 12.42-mile Pikes Peak International Hill Climb scheduled for June 26. Of the two models set to compete, one will enter the Time Attack 1 category, featuring chassis lightening modifications and a racing exhaust. Its counterpart, in the Time Attack 2 grouping, is closer to factory condition, with both cars utilizing the standard Acura NSX powertrain. It combines a biturbo V6 gasoline engine mated to a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission, along with a rear electric motor and a “Twin Motor Unit” for torque vectoring and motive power to the front wheels.
