Considering the artisanal ethos that pervades Pitti Uomo, it made sense that visvim showed off its Spring 2017 collection there. In keeping with Hiroki Nakamura's obsession with Americana, there was a retro workwear vibe throughout the runway show, seen on the throwback ten-gallon hats, jeans and printed tees, but the all-American vibe was also fused with Japanese details. Tie-front jackets reminiscent of a kimono, as well as relaxed drawstring pants, offered an Eastern counterpoint to the post-war Western archetypes, enhanced by Busby Berkeley dance routines.
