Futura has a solo exhibition, "New Horizons," opening tomorrow at Detroit's Library Street Collective. The exhibition, which the artist calls the beginning of his "third act," features an entirely new body of work. Futura created the new paintings and large-scale works in a downtown studio over the course of several months and frequent visits to Detroit. He brings his trademark abstractions, including gyroscopes, nebulae, and lightning-like streaks across night skies, to the gallery's walls and back alley public space, the latter showcasing a new iteration of LSC's Public Matter Series. Be sure to check it out if you're in the area.
