Acura Built an Electric NSX to Take on Pikes Peak
Featuring an electric drivetrain built for racing
At this year's Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, scheduled for June 26, Acura will race its 2017 NSX, as well as the NSX EV Concept. The latter features a total of four electric motors, one for each wheel. This means each wheel can behave independently, thanks to the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system that can precisely tailor the torque that's applied to each wheel. The result is that the NSX concept will be able to corner and accelerate better than a mechanical all-wheel drive car, as well as one- or two-motor EV models. The vehicle should be well suited to meet the demands of the 156 complex corners of Pikes Peak.
