Y-3's Spring/Summer 2017 collection has a decided futuristic bent, influenced some of Yohji Yamamoto's favorite science-fiction and horror films, including A Clockwork Orange, Blade Runner and Under the Skin. Using dystopian fiction as a framework, the Spring/Summer Y-3 collection features minimalist sports fashion as a radical reflection of an imagined future world, frequently portraying space, time travel and life on other planets.

The collection was divided into four key themes -- "Future Perfect," "Dimension 3," "Renegade," and "Surrealism" -- all of which were previewed during Paris Fashion Week. A key item from the range took the form of the limited-edition NOCI 0003, a deconstructed sneaker silhouette that was available to purchase straight off the runway.
