Aston Martin has taken the wraps off the AM-RB 001, a street-legal hypercar made in conjunction with the Red Bull Formula One team. At the heart of the heavily sculpted car is a naturally aspirated V12 engine, which drives the rear wheels only and is mounted behind the teardrop passenger compartment. The lightweight carbon fiber structure also comes with a customized transmission and suspension, as envisioned by Adrian Newey, Red Bull Racing chief technical officer and Formula 1 car designer. According to Aston, the car will go on sale in 2018, with production possibly limited to just 99 examples. In addition to the roadgoing version, there will also be 25 track-only versions produced.
